Desi was the second youngest of five children (four boys and a girl) born to a very well respected family. He was blessed with good looks, a natural gift for music (keyboards) and most of all a crazy, cheeky sense of humour. Desi married his true love Liz in 1982 and they had two great kids - Damien and Nuala.

Unfortunately Desi developed a serious heart condition but he never lost his natural humour - it was too much a part of him. Desi and I were lifetime friends. A friendship that goes back beyond memory. As we grew up and entered adulthood there were the inevitable gaps in our contact but while the moon may eclipse the sun, it is only an illusion. The sun is still there and so was our friendship. A friendship that grew even stronger as the years passed.

Desi was unique - but aren't we all(?!) He just had a bit more uniqueness (excuse my poetic licence) and was very special to those who really knew him. That's a great legacy to leave to his family and all of his friends and to those who happened to cross his path during his life.
